A designer whose creative roots and business operations are based west of the designated regional line, reflecting the distinctive aesthetic, culture, and market of the U.S. West. Typically characterized by relaxed silhouettes, sun‑lit palettes, streetwear influence, resort and lifestyle sensibilities, and an emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and direct‑to‑consumer approaches. Ideal candidates have regional experience or relevance, a coherent brand voice, readiness for runway presentation, and the capacity to translate West Coast sensibilities into high‑impact shows and marketable collections.

Each season we will have an associated decade presented in this category. The September 2026 season will be focused on defiantly fearless 90's — oversized silhouettes, loud logos, and contrasting textures collided with a new-found freedom and attitude. Think power suiting with broad shoulders and bold pinstripes; streetwear’s rise brought chunky sneakers, overly baggy jeans, and loudly graphic tees; and minimalism fought back with slip dresses and sleek, pared‑down separates. Color palettes swung from neon and primary brights to washed‑out grunge flannels and muted neutrals. Accessories with statements: chokers, bucket hats, tiny sunglasses, and logo belts. The 90's celebrated a unique mix‑and‑match confidence, blending high fashion with subcultural edge, commercial branding, and unapologetic individualism.
A designer based east of the designated regional line, shaped by the urban, tailored, and heritage-driven sensibilities of the U.S. East. Often features structured silhouettes, refined tailoring, luxury fabrics, remarkable eveningwear, and metropolitan street-style hybridity. Ideal candidates demonstrate market readiness, a clear brand identity, experience or resonance in East Coast markets, and the ability to deliver polished runway presentations and commercial appeal.

A designer based outside the United States who brings global perspective, distinct cultural aesthetics, and diverse craftsmanship to the collection. Typically operates within non‑U.S. markets (independent label, atelier, or fashion house), may have regional recognition or international showroom experience, and seeks U.S. exposure, cross‑border sales channels, and collaboration opportunities. Ideal candidates demonstrate professional readiness for marquee events, compliance with export/import logistics, and an ability to engage global audiences while respecting local production ethics and sustainability.
Defined as an early‑career designer (student through 0–7 years) who is actively building a professional portfolio and securing first steady clients. Typically has few or no completed commercial collections or sales, limited public recognition, a smaller industry network, and constrained resources. Ideal candidates are growth‑oriented, coachable, and ready to gain exposure, mentorship, and business support.
Set aside specially for distinguished, established label chosen for exceptional craft, vision, and market impact. Spotlighted alongside a celebrity performer, the Featured Designer presents up to 15 signature looks that exemplify artistry, commercial readiness, and runway magnetism. This honor recognizes proven sales or industry acclaim, impeccable production standards, and the capacity to command audience attention and media coverage. This is designated for ONE distinguished creator. Please include this option in your application if you would like your brand to be considered for this prestigious spotlight.
Not all designer applications will be accepted. Each season we will select up to four designers per category. Applications are reviewed on a first‑come, first‑served basis and each applicant will receive an immediate intake interview. If you meet the qualification criteria, we will outline clear next steps and requirements during that interview. Designer announcements staggered, with the official lineup announced August 31, 2026.
By applying, designers commit to advancing with the show if accepted and to fully comply with all production requirements and Times Square Alliance best business practices and policies. Applicants must be prepared to meet deadlines, provide required documentation and materials, adhere to technical and safety specifications, participate in Designer Preparation Cadences (DPC), participate in scheduled rehearsals and fittings, and cooperate with production staff, partners, and vendors. Failure to meet these obligations may result in removal from the lineup, forfeiture of benefits, and/or financial liability for costs incurred.
